Canva Copyright Guidelines

Many of our clients use CANVA to create promotional materials to use for their social media or website. It's a great resource that offers both paid and free options depending on the user's needs for graphics, videos, etc.

In general, if you use third party content within Canva you will be held to those third-party rights.

Free Images

Free to use images in Canva are typically sourced from places like Pexels, Unsplash, etc. These sources provide images that are free for personal or commercial usage so in these instances these images are free to use as standalone content outside of Canva.

Premium (Paid) Images

If an image requires you to have a Premium subscription or you must buy the image to use it, then it is not usually sourced from one of the free resources so it will be under different license standards. These images cannot be used as standalone content outside of Canva.

For example, if you download a stock image from Canva resources using your Premium Plan or if you purchased a license directly for that image, you cannot then use it as a standalone image on your website.

Please see the license agreement below from Canva to learn more!
