Overview

Packages in Townsquare allow businesses to bundle services and products for customers to purchase upfront. These prepaid packages help increase revenue, encourage repeat business, and simplify the booking process for clients.

Packages are available only in the Growth Plan, as online payments are required.

1. Why Use Packages?

  • Retention & Loyalty – Encourages repeat customers and rewards loyalty.
  • Increased Revenue – Unlocks new upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Advance Payments – Clients pay upfront, securing future bookings.
  • Competitive Advantage – Helps businesses stand out from competitors.

2. Creating a New Package

Step 1: Navigate to Packages

  1. Go to Settings > Coupons and Packages in the Townsquare App.
  2. Click on the Packages tab.
  3. Select "Add Package" to start building a package.

Step 2: Customize Package Details

    • Expiration Date – Define how long the package remains valid after purchase.
  2. Select Package Services:

    • Choose the services that the package applies to.
    • Only paid services with a price set in Service Settings can be included.

3. Types of Packages

Single-Service Packages

  • Allows customers to purchase multiple bookings for the same service.
  • Ideal for businesses offering bulk discounts or class passes.
  • Example: A music instructor offers a package of 10 piano lessons.

“Mix and Match” Packages

  • Clients can choose any service from a predefined list.
  • Works well for businesses offering different but similarly priced services.
  • Example: A gym membership package that includes 10 fitness classes, allowing customers to book different classes as they choose.

Multi-Service Packages

  • Provides a set number of credits that can be used for multiple services or products.
  • Ideal for combination deals and bundled discounts.
  • Example: A salon offers a package including 2 haircuts, 1 mani-pedi, and a free nail kit.

4. Enabling Online Purchases

  • Ensure the “Can Be Purchased Online” checkbox is selected.
  • If this option is not enabled, businesses can still add packages to client accounts manually under the Payments tab in the client card.

5. Adding Products to a Package

Before adding products, they must first be created in the system.

Step 1: Create a Product

  1. Go to Settings > My Products.
  2. Click the "+" (plus) button to create a new product.
  3. Enter:
    • Product Name
    • Description
    • Price and tax details
  4. Select "Display on Product List" and click Save.

Step 2: Add Products to the Package

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the Package Creation Page.
  2. Enable the blue toggle to allow product selection.
  3. Select the products to add.

6. Setting Package Pricing & Discounts

  • The total price at the bottom of the page reflects all services and products included.
  • Businesses can determine discounted pricing by adjusting this total.
  • A common strategy is to offer one service or product for free by deducting its cost from the total package price.

7. Previewing & Sharing Packages

Once the package is created, it can be previewed as a client:

  1. Hover over the package title with the mouse.
  2. Click on the three dots to the right.
  3. Select "Grab a Link" to copy the package URL.
  4. Paste the link into a browser to preview how the package appears online.
  5. Share the link with clients via email or text to promote the package.

8. Key Takeaways

  • There are three types of packages: Single-Service, Mix and Match, and Multi-Service.
  • Products can be added to packages after they are created in My Products.
