What is Townsquare Hosting?

Townsquare Hosting is our new hosting service, replacing GoDaddy. This service is separate from the core Townsquare Interactive (TSI) package, offering domain and email plans that are billed separately.

Key Features of Townsquare Hosting:

  • Clients get their first year free before switching to annual billing.
  • Clients can retain hosting services even if they cancel TSI services.
  • The process is streamlined with EPP codes, removing confusion over account transfers.
  • new dashboard in CAP provides easy access to hosting information.

Understanding the Change

Transition from GoDaddy to Net Nation

We are shifting from GoDaddy to Net Nation for all domain and email hosting. This transition includes:

  • completely separate package from TSI services.
  • Billing handled independently of TSI.
  • new process for domain transfers and email setup.

What to Expect During the Transition

  • Beta testing: Initially, only a small group of sellers will test the process.

  • Temporary dual-process handling:

  • If the client was sold with Townsquare Hosting, follow the new process.
  • If the client was notproceed as usual.
  • CAP system updates: New tabs and dashboard features will support this transition.

Key Things to Know

  • CAP Updates:

  • new "Domain and Email Services" tab will house SSL, DNS, and Townsquare Hosting.
  • The Overview tab now shows Townsquare Hosting status beneath the business name.
  • Account Updates:

  • Contact information must be updated separately in both TSI and Townsquare Hosting.
  • Delegate Access is no longer available for Townsquare Hosting accounts.
  • Service Keys:

  • There will not be a service key for Townsquare Hosting, as it is independent of TSI’s core package.
  • Cancellation Requests:

  • If a client requests a cancellation, determine whether they are canceling only TSI services or both TSI and Townsquare Hosting.

New Hosting Process Flow

Step 1: Check for Townsquare Hosting in CAP

  • When handling a GCC (Guided Client Call), verify if the client has Townsquare Hosting by checking the Overview tab in CAP.

Step 2: Determine Hosting Status

If the client does not have Townsquare Hosting:

  • Proceed with the standard GCC process.

If the client has Townsquare Hosting:

  1. Verify Provisioning Status:

  • Go to Task Manager in CAP.
  • If the client appears in Task Manager, provisioning is incomplete → Finish provisioning.
  • If they do not appear, the account was successfully provisioned.
  1. Proceed Based on Hosting Needs:

  1. Buying a Domain:

  • Go to the Townsquare Hosting Portal and purchase the requested domain.
  • The domain will automatically be mapped (Note: In Phase 1, the go-live team must manually map the domain).
  • Once the new TSI site is ready, the go-live team will point the domain.
  1. Transferring a Domain:

  • Enter the EPP Code in the Townsquare Hosting Portal to start the transfer.
  • Transfers take 5-7 days.
  • If the transfer is incomplete before launch, submit an SSL ticket stating the transfer is in progress.
  1. Setting Up Domain Emails:

  • Follow the steps for buying or transferring a domain.
  • Submit a tech team ticket to create emails.
  • Work with the client to determine their preferred email addresses.

Key Takeaways

✔ No more tickets for EPP codes – Enter them directly!
✔ Always check the CAP Overview tab for Townsquare Hosting status.
✔ Use the Net Nation portal to view hosting packages.
✔ If a client needs more than 5 emails or additional domains, reach out to Net Nation’s Level 2 Support.
✔ If a client is transferring a domain, get the EPP code as early as possible during the GCC.
